Blomsterdalen depicts the complicated relationship between Denmark and Greenland. It’s about not belonging in society and the loneliness that follows. It also brings light on Greenland’s suicide culture in a raw and direct manner. I knew that I wanted to design a cover and body that truly expressed the darkness of the story. The raven is a frequent and important symbol in the book and I therefore felt it was an important part of the design.
